Yes, Sawajiri Erika is very pretty, and I think she would be good in the role of Kikyou.
I also think Yamashita Rio and Tanimura Mitsuki look remarkably like Sango and Kagura.
Likewise, the male actors you chose seem very well suited to their roles, but it's more
difficult to picture them since they need costumes.  Inuyasha's and Sesshoumaru's costumes
are especially important.  I've seen some Inuyasha "cosplay," and it is not often convincing. :)

Anyway, I think all of your choices are great, and I'd like to see some movies with these
actors and actresses. I'll look for them, and hope I can find them here.

I wish it was possible to get more Japanese films here.  Americans don't watch a lot of foreign
films, it seems, and that is disappointing.  I'm missing the golden age of young actresses!
(Beautiful young actresses everywhere?  I want to go to Japan!  :)

Meanwhile, if a live-action Inuyasha film is made, I hope that the actors and actresses you
picked will be in it.  If some characters have to be computer animations, maybe the voice actors
from the cartoon can do those roles, like Myouga and Jaken, and Miroku's friend Hachiemon.
It would be so cool to see a live-action Inuyasha film!  Just the thought of it is exciting.

various roles for his age.  And I expect a white thick fur stole will become him, too (^^

The actress for the role of Kikyou must have beauty and charisma at the same time to

today is the golden age of young actresses which could be once in a hundred years.  
There are beautiful young actresses everywhere but she must be the only actress who

Yes, those are the remakes!  I saw both of them before I saw Kurosawa's films.  "A Fistful of Dollars" is a really cool film,
and when I finally saw "Yojimbo," I realized they were almost exactly the same.  I'm a fan of all of Eastwood's "spaghetti
westerns."  "A Few Dollars More," and "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" complete that great trilogy.

I haven't seen "Courage Under Fire," but even an episode of "The X Files" was a "Rashomon story."

In Inuyasha, I also like all of the scenes with Inuyasha and Kagome best.  My other favorite characters are Kikyo,
Sesshoumaru, and Toutousai.  I don't know much of the story beyond the end of the cartoon, and it will be a long time
before I'll be able to read it, but I've heard about Sesshoumaru's mother and the Meido-Zangetsuha.

You seem to have given a lot of thought to the making of a live-action Inuyasha film!  Yes, I think it could be done like
you suggest, by using only the main story line.  There would still be a lot of roles to fill.  Who could play Sesshoumaru
and Kikyou?  The Shichinintai would be interesting, too.  I think some characters would have to be computer animations
(Myoga and other youkai), but it would be good if Shippou at least was not a CGI character.

The remade films of Kurosawa's are The Magnificent Seven and A Fistful of Dollars, 
aren't they?  I watched "A Fistful" on TV when I was a teenager and I was fascinated.  
It was the first time when I knew Clint Eastwood, but unfortunately I've not seen 
the original "Yojimbo" yet.

Talking about remaking of the Kurosawa films, I was very fascinated by Courage 
Under Fire.  The story is set in the Gulf War and, to be exact, not a remake but 
one of Rashomon stories.  "A Rashomon story" is, you know, a story about the case 
in which the eyewitness accounts clash with each other.

In the InuYasha story, I like all the scenes of InuYasha and Kagome best.  I like 
Kikyo, Miroku, Sango, Sesshomaru, Kagura and Koga, but my most favorite characters 
are the two after all.  However, my most impressed episodes are the scene in which 
Kikyo releases the soul of the Holy Priest Hakusan and removes the pure and 
invincible barrier, and the process in which Sesshomaru develops Meido-Zangetsuha 
on Tenseiga (His mother is fantastic!)

A live-action InuYasha movie could be ten parts or more (^^  But if it is filmed 
using only the main stream of the story line, three part films might do, I think.  
And I expect the contents should be:-

    Part one    Meeting of Kagome and InuYasha;  introducing of Sesshomaru, Miroku, 
              Shippo, Myoga, Sango, Kohaku and Koga.
                Features oppositions and friendships of the characters.

    Part two    Introducing of Naraku and his other selves;  revival of Kikyo.
                Features the growth of Tessaiga and the triangle of InuYasha, Kagome 
              and Kikyo.

    Part three  Introducing of Shichinintai;  retirement of Kagura, Kanna, Koga, 
              and Kikyo.
                Features final battles against Naraku and final decisions of Kikyo, 
              InuYasha, and Kagome.

Yes, Kurosawa is a great film-maker.  I admire his artistry and visual storytelling.  Some of his films
have been remade as American Westerns (I'm sure you know), but I like to see the original.

Thanks for your insight into the Shichinintai.  I hadn't seen that perspective on them.  Maybe I should
watch those episodes again!  My favorite Inuyasha episodes are the early ones, up to Inuyasha's battle
with Ryuukotusei.

Speaking of Nausicaa, it was the first Japanese comic that I read.  A friend of mine liked Japanese comics,
and introduced me to Nausicaa.  I had never read any comics before, but I really liked it.

A long time after that, I saw Inuyasha and I became obsessed!  I even wanted to learn to read Japanese
so I could read the comics in their true language.  (I can't do it yet!)

I completely agree with you about the story for a live-action Inuyasha film.

it made me find how wonderful films were.  Since I watched Nausicaa in the first run

themes with local situation, isn't he?

Yes, some viewers of Inuyasha seem great fans of the Shichinintai.  The reason must 
be each member of the Shichinintai has a strong and attractive personality.  They are 
all cruel and brutal but not cold-blooded at all.  That complex personality of each 
of them gives us unforgettable impressions.  They are very attractive.

Talking about a live-action Inuyasha film, I wish it will be filmed faithfully to

Nausicaa!  That is a great film.  I love all of Miyazaki's films, and it's really hard to choose a favorite.
I mostly see live-action movies, too, but that's because there aren't many animated American films.
As for live-action Japanese films, I've only seen a few--mostly Kurosawa's samurai films.  Of those, "Seven
Samurai" and "Rashomon" are my favorites.

Speaking of "Shichinin no samurai," I've noticed that Inuyasha's Shichinintai are very popular.  (how's that for a
segue? :)   In fact, some of the Shichinintai seem to be more popular than Inuyasha himself.

I like the scenes of Inuyasha and Kagome very much, too.  Especially I love the 
situation when Kagome is in a bad mood and Inuyasha can't understand the reason but 
tries to calm her helplessly (^^

I hope a TV program of Inuyasha starts again, too.  But because I'm a movie fan, 
I hope a live-action film of Inuyasha is made.  If that comes true, I wish the roles 
of Inuyasha and Kagome will be OKADA Masaki and KITANO Kii.

I watched "Harufuuei," the movie starring them this week.  It is a girl-meets-boy story.  
A girl and a boy start going together but the boy has a secret.  When the girl knows 
that, she presses him for the answer, becomes in a bad mood, gets angry, but wants to 
allow him in her mind.  He tries to follow her but can't do anything.  They are very

Long time no see.  

I read #43~#49 comics again. And then I checked Sessyomaru's swords.
Tokijin was broken at fight  against Moryoumaru .
He still has Tenseiga. Tenseiga got a new power . It was Meidouzangetsuha.
Tenseiga had two power,one was coming back to life and other was opening to hell and sending enemy to hell.
But the power was out .( Tetsusaiga  soaked it up.)
This was a plan of their father.
Sessyoumaru completed Meidouzanketsuha and then Tetsusaiga soaked it up.
Sessyoumaru gave up Tetsusaiga and then his arm was come out with a new sword.

I read # 55.Kohaku is fine. Kikyou picked his life instead  beating Naraku.
Kikyou's remain power gave him to life. 

I'm waiting for the last comic of Inuyasha . I don't know when it will go on sale.

I was still in England when inuyasha movies were on Japan's cinema.
But I was able to watch the last movie in cinema. Lucky I was back in Japan then!

Talking about movies, 
did you know that on cinema inuyasha was shown together with Hamutaro movie?
It sounds strange but its true!
The last inuyasha movie that I watched on cinema showed Hamutaro too.
I think people had to do that way because Hamutaro movie is real short.
Still it was good to see 2 different movie at once.
And there were some similarity in the story between Hamutaro and inuyasha story. 
There were also lots of items that has inuyasha and hamutaro together!
I bought a pin batch that has a picture of these two on.

I know there's another one for the Playstation 2.  It's called "Inuyasha: Feudal Combat."
You'd like that one, because you can fight as Kouga.  In fact, Kouga's really hard to beat in that game!
Then there's two for the original Playstation.
One is a fighting game called "A Feudal Fairy Tale," and the other is an RPG, the name of which I don't know.
The RPG is only available in Japan.
"A Feudal Fairy Tale" is like "Feudal Combat," but it's not 3D, and it's older.
However, it has the real Japanese voices instead of the English actors like the others.

I have heard that there are some other games, but I don't know about them.  Most of them are probably old, and hard to find.
Oh! There's one for the Nintendo DS.  That's the newest one, I think.

I agree. It's somtimes difficult to spell words and also to pronounce it.

Most people who ate mermaids meat gained eternal life but changed into ugly monsters but Mana didn't.

Yes, in America, people think "cartoons are for children only."
Most adults don't watch cartoons here.
They are not very familiar with Japanese anime (except Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh, etc).
When they see some Japanese anime, they are surprised by the violence it sometimes contains.
I was even surprised the first time I saw some!

I've seen a little bit of "One Piece," but I didn't know that a cigarette was changed into a candy!
I understand why they did that, though.
Even "Bugs Bunny" is censored for children here!

Inuyasha is very scary sometimes (I love it!)
So I'm also happy that Inuyasha isn't changed...
But!  Even though it is on late at night here, I noticed one small change in one episode.
It is when Miroku first appears, and sees Kagome bathing.
Kagome is naked for a short time, and it was cut out of the American broadcast.
I got to see it on DVD, though  :)

Of course, the voices are changed, too, because it is broadcast in English here...

I'm glad you finally found it.
I'll keep looking for one, too.  Last year I found one on ebay.

I guess the most recent Inuyasha item I bought was a book called "Inuyasha Profiles."
It gives a detailed description of all of the characters and their abilities, etc.
It also tells their ages.  For the youkai, it lists the ages in "human years."
There's even a profile of Takahashi Rumiko!
There are also some comments on the characters from Takahashi Rumiko.
My book is in English, but I guess it was translated from an original Japanese book.

Yeah, the relationship between Sesshoumaru and Rin is interesting.
I remember that Jinenji said that Rin was like Kagome.  Maybe she is, a little.
I also wonder what might happen when Rin grows up.

Well, I sometimes think about what kind of ending Inuyasha should have.
Although I'd also like a happy ending, I sometimes feel that it ought to be sad.
It seems the most honest way to end, because I think Inuyasha is a tragic hero.
Maybe he isn't, and I am wrong, but that's the way he seems to me.

I guess it doesn't matter to me whether the ending is happy or sad,
as long as it seems right and complete.
I don't want a contrived ending or one that is left open.
The ending should be like the entire story...perfect!

Of course, if a happy ending can be made, I will be happy too!

(Ok, that didn't really explain the ending either,
so I'll add some more to your idea for a happy ending:)

After Inuyasha and Kagome defeat Naraku, the Shikon no Tama becomes purified.
Kagome marries Inuyasha, and they keep the whole world peaceful and safe, using the power of the Shikon no Tama.
Also, Kagome still studies hard and does well in school.
Well, maybe they're still too young to get married yet, so they wait until Kagome finishes her education.
Meanwhile, Kouga keeps chasing Kagome and getting into fights with Inuyasha.
Finally, Miroku marries Sango, and they have a lot of kids.

Well, that's not too good....but I'm not a very good writer!

He was talking about the main theme music for inuyasha.
He says usually other music composers use all kinds of instruments, to hear if it all sounds right.
But he only used guiter to compose.
The reason is he didn't have much time and he was in a rush to make it.
As a result the inuyasha music was made.
He says it's just as he imagined! Thats all I can remember!

I enjoy the quiet of the country, and I like to walk in the woods.  It is very relaxing.
On the other hand, there are no Japanese stores here!

Kaoru Wada is the composer of the background music for Inuyasha.
All of the symphonic music for the movies and the TV series was written by Kaoru Wada.
I love all of the music, and I have some Inuyasha soundtrack CDs.
There is a musical theme for all of the characters in Inuyasha.
Sango's theme is sad, Miroku's is serene and a little mischievous,
Sesshoumaru's is scary, and Shippou's is playful.

Kouga has a theme too!  It is fast and heroic.  It's called "Yourouzoku Kouga."

I like her because she's smart, strong, and quick-tempered.  She's a good match for Inuyasha!

I agree that this story does seem to be about those who don't know love finding it.
Inuyasha, Sesshoumaru and Kouga seem to be unkind at first, but they learn to become gentle later on.

I like Inuyasha because Inuyasha learned to protect Kagome.
At first, Inuyasha seemed like a villain, and tried to hurt Kagome, but now he protects her.
He was very selfish at first, and didn't care about anyone, but Kagome taught him to be kind.
The story of Inuyasha is great, and there are so many interesting people in it.
Also, I like Inuyasha because he is so stubborn.  He never gives up!

You're right, there are some Japanese shops in America, but there are none where I live.
However, there will soon be a "Japan Fest" in a city that is not too far away.

The first episode I watched was when kouga first met Kagura.

I like Kanpei Yamaguchi too. His voice is real nice.
And I love to hear his voice when he's acting other characters in aime too.
Did you know there's a music CD of Kanppei? 
I borrowed and listened to it once.
The music sounded very old and he wasn't quite good at singing...but it was fun to listen too.

Thanks so much for telling me Kouga's words.  I have difficulty hearing them in Japanese.
I like to watch it in Japanese even though I don't understand it,
because I like to hear Kappei Yamaguchi.  He is so cool.
It's funny when Inuyasha and Kouga call each other "Baka!"

What episode do I like?  That's hard to decide!
Some of my favorites are when Inuyasha follows Kagome home to the modern age.
I also like episodes with Sesshoumaru.  I especially like the one where Sesshoumaru meets Rin.
But if I have to pick a favorite, I think it is the first one about the new moon.
Inuyasha is bitten by the spider, and Kagome is very worried about him.
I think that is when they first show feelings for each other.

Hehe...yup it is. It's when Kagome worries about Inuyasha and searches him with Kouga.
Inuyasha had fought with Renkotu and got lost at the burning river because of bomb that Renkotu used.
Kagome cries and Kouga tries to comforts her. 
Then Inuyasha appears, and Kagome hugs him.
I like Kouga when he gets a bit shoked by his and says(Anime version)

"今回だけは見逃してやる。"
"this time I'll overlook."

"かごめも気が動転してるしな…"
"Kagame is being stunned..."

"だがな犬っころ！こんなことで勝ったと思うなよ！"

「手に入れる」も「あそこ」も間違ってしまいました。I also mistook "teniireru" as well as "asoko".
