1月

　新しい年を希望を持って迎えました。正月はいつも気持ちが改まっていいものです。今年もいい年でありますようにと、初詣でお願いをしてきました。
　今年の冬は暖冬らしく、とても過ごしやすいですが、世界的には異常気象、チョット心配ですネ。

新年の抱負
　My new year’s resolutions are actually quite simple.
1,I will walk a few times a week for my health.
2,I will listen to the English radio programs for improving my English skills every day.
3,I will save my secret savings of ??? yen for my hobbies and my pleasures.

映画「硫黄島からの手紙」（Letters from Iwo Jima）
I went to the movies to see “Letters from Iwo Jima”.
I’ve also seen the movie “Flags of Our Fathers” before.
They were produced by Clint Eastwood who I like.The movies were the same theme about a battle on a small island called Iwo Jima.

The movie “Letters from Iwo Jima” is presented by a American movie company but performers are all Japanese actors and speak Japanese just like Japanese movies.
Some parts of scenes from “Last Samurai” and “Sayuri” have something strange compared to the customs of Japan. But I think this movie is completely Japanese.

I didn’t know much about the fight in Iwo Jima before. But now I see that the battle in Iwo Jima was an all-out battle.About 20,000 Japanese soldiers died and 7,000 American people died.All of the soldiers believed that they fought for the right.

About 60 years later, the horrible war makes us feel empty.
I think the Iraq war will be the same thing in the future.
