You've come to Tachikawa too earlier for your appointment?
So, why don't you go and read at the Library?
Almost all books are Japanese but they have some foreign magazines and newspapers,
such as "Newsweek", "National geographic" etc.

Open hours (as of September 2005): Wed.Thur.Sat.Sun.National holidays 10am-5:00 pm
Tue. Fri. 10:00-7:00 pm
Children's library on the 4th floor is open 10:00am-5:00pm.

   Close days(as of September 2005) : Every Monday,every third Thursday, Year end's days-New year's days(1 week)
and several days for inspection.


Procedure:
Anyone living or working in Tachikawa can borrow for free.
You don't need to register to read at the place.



Registration: You need to apply for a card to check out books, CDs and other Library materials .
You can ask to fill in the application format the reception counter.
Just say "Hajimetedesu. Card, onegaishimasu.( This is my first visit and I would like to ask for a card)".
Please bring your ID such as the alien card, postcard addressed to your name and home.

Borrowing:Bring the items with your card to the counter.

Returning:Just give back the items at the counter.
While the library is closed, put them except audiocasettes and CDs into the book-post outside the library.
You must return audiocasettes and CDs to the counter during the open hour.


How to go to the Library from North Exit of JR Tachikawa Sta.


1. Go straight on the deck between the "Isetan" department store and the coffee shop "Klimt".

2.Keep on going until when you go over the "Takashimaya" department store and see the" Palace Hotel" to the left.

3.You'll see the bridge in the picture below to the right-ahead and go across it.
