I am not a vegetarian. I enjoy eating almost all foods.
However, in some foreign countries, there are some foods I don't or cannot eat
because of a taste or smell I'm not used to.
There are also some foods I cannot accept because of cultural differences.
Each person has his own taste.

I hope this page can help make your life in Japan more comfortable.

Literally, "I cannot eat X." but the actual meaning is "I don't eat X"in English.

I don't eat any meat.
「わたしは、(お)にくが たべられません。」
[Watashiwa onikuga taberaremasen.]

I don't eat X and Y.
「わたしは Xと Yが たべられません。」

[watashiwa Xto Yga taberaremasen]

I don't eat meat or fish.
「わたしは (お)にくと さかなが たべられません。」
[Watashiwa onikuto sakanaga taberaremasen.]

I'm allergic to X.

「わたしは Xの アレルギーです。」

[When you make a reservation for a party in which there is a vegetarian who doesn't want to order the course menu.]
Excuse me. There is a vegetarian in our group. Can he(/she) order a la carte on site?
「すみません。ひとり ベジタリアンが いるんですが、そのひとだけ ついてから たんぴんで たのんでもいいですか?」
[Sumimasen. Hitori bejitarianga irundesuga,sonohitodake tsuitekara tampinde tanondemo iidesuka?

[When you are invited for dinner by someone]
Excuse me. I'm vegetarian. Is it OK? (It implies"Will there be some foods for a vegetarian?")
「すみません。わたしは ベジタリアンなんですが だいじょうぶでしょうか?」
[Sumimasen. Watashiwa bejitariannandesuga daijoubudeshouka?]
This is a mild notice. Usually (or hopefully), the host will prepare something for you if you say this.
I would be glad if you were my guest and said this in advance, because I hope all my friends could enjoy dinner with me.

[When you invite someone to your place]
Is there anything you don't eat?
「なにか たべられないものが ありますか?」
[nanika taberarenai monoga arimasuka?]

Amazingly, there is no meat, fish, garlic, ginger or spring onions in any dishes.
What you think meat or sausage is actually made of soy beans.
What you think salmon is actually made of Yuba (the skin of soybean milk).
I went there several times and the dishes taste very good for non-vegetarians, too.
(There are dishes which contain honey, sugar or skim milk
and please ask the staff for more details.)

They have a branch in Kunitachi, 10minutes away from the Kunitachi station.

Full of Indian atmosphere. All the staffs are very kind.
I went there several times and I'm sure you'll enjoy their good foods.
For the lunch buffet, there are usually 2 veggie curries and 2 meat curries available, as well as nan and rice.
Party available with reservation. 70 seats.
English spoken.
