Programming information for EPOC

A Japanese counterpart of this page is http://www.hi-ho.ne.jp/~ktkawabe/prog.html.

title abstract
OPL is... (Japanese) OPL is nice, but I have a kind of itching feeling once in a while when I encounter some of the inherent shortcomings. If you're interested in "catches" for OPL programming, you'll probably find this document interesting. Written in Japanese.
ALEPPO Essential (English) Do you like ALEPPO? I don't. That's why I had to write this up. ALEPPO has the following "features" among others, so I find it a bit awkward to use:
  • You have to use Microsoft Word, a non-typical tool for programmers
  • In Japanese Windows/Word (which I have to use), the Word template for EPOC help is awful. Duplicated heading definitions in Japanese and in English etc.
  • You cannot use any other characterset than the Locale of Windows.
This document tells you how to use an SGML editor of your choice instead of Word, and how to use other characterset than the locale of Windows (e.g. UTF8).
Information about jiskan font (Japanese) This is for users who are interested in using Japanese characters on their EPOC devices (yes, naturally it is written in Japanese).
