With One Voice 2002: Americas Adults and Teens Sound Off About Teen Pregnancy
The National Campaign To Prevent Teen Pregnancy

Almost two-thirds of teens who have had sex (63%) wish they had waited longer. This is one of several findings from a new survey suggesting that teens are taking a cautious attitude toward early and casual sex. The nationally-representative annual survey of adults and teens released by the non-profit National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy also reveals that most adults (94%) and teens (93%) believe it is important for teens to be given a strong message from society that they should not have sex until they are at least out of high school. The survey also indicates that a large majority of adults (76%) and teens (64%) believe that teens should get more information about abstinence and contraception rather than just one or the other.
