Difference from U.S.

• KEEP TO THE LEFT
  The most differencial point in car driving system between Japan and U.S., which is "keep to the left" and "right hand driving".
  
• RED SIGNAL
  All traffic must stop.
  But "A GREEN ARROW"signal means as a green light for the indicated direction.
• GREEN SIGNAL
  If you may turn right,yield to all coming traffic(ex:Yield to the going straight car on opposite side lane and pedestrian).

THE PRINCIPAL TRAFFIC SIGNS

• STOP SIGN
  You must always bring your vehicle to complete stop and yield to all other traffic before proceeding.
  And check other traffic.

• SPEED LIMIT SIGN
  It shows maximum speed limit(unit:Km/h).
  You must not drive faster than the indicated speed limits.
  If police find out over speed car,it will fine about 10,000yen!

• NO PARKING SIGN
  this signs restrict parking.
  if the vehicles stop over 5 minutes,it reconize as a parking. the penalty fee is very expensive!!

• DIRECTION CONTROL SIGN
  You must go the indicated direction.
  In this case,you may go straight or turn left.

• ONE WAY SIGN
  you must go the arrow direction.

• DO NOT ENTER(WRONG-WAY) SIGN
  This means don't enter.this posted at oneway exit.

• NO U TURN SIGN

• DO NOT PASS SIGN

• STOP TRAFFIC SIGN
  The street posting this sign is blocked.there is the reason as weather bad conditon, under constraction and so on.
