Biwamasu (Biwa salmon) was found to be a new species endemic to Lake Biwa and was given the scientific name Oncorhynchus biwaensis. The research results were published in an international academic journal on June 21, 2025. So the notation on the related page of "Trout and Seasons of The Mountain Village" has been corrected.
