「従接詞は一般的に節によって実現されることはなく、例外は観点従接詞[viewpoint subjuncts]である」(CGEL, 15.19)という記述に続き、次のような例が挙げられている｡

As far as the economy goes, the next six months are critical.
If we look at it from an historical point of view, they have little claim on the territory.
Looking at it objectively, he is definitely at fault.

「文体分接詞[Style disjuncts]」には次のようなものがある｡
